‘First Snow’

This People’s Choice winner is another favorite. I chased after wild mustangs for photos the summer of 1992, striking gold. This band of pure Spanish mustangs ended up at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in California after the sanctuary’s wild race to an auction in Arizona, barely ahead of the slaughterers.

More Info:

For once, the good guys won. This unique band of Spanish mustangs, dating from early U.S. history, was rounded up to be sold to the killers before being rescued at the last minute. They were placed in a wild horse sanctuary in Northern California where I photographed them. In their new home I played with mustang foals that accepted me as one of them.
